Published on 2/12/2019

HIMSS19 kicked off in Orlando, Florida with more than 45,000 industry leaders engaging in dynamic conversations around improving health care and technology. In this first installment of a three-part series on the Perspectives on Health and Tech podcast, we’re delivering insights from the showroom floor at North America’s largest health care conference. This special edition episode features four leading experts sharing how the now and next of health care is impacting their organizations. They also give their reactions to day one of the conference and what they are looking forward to over the next two days.

First, we hear from Cerner’s Senior Vice President of Population Health, Ryan Hamilton. He talks about how transformation is impacting the business of population health.

We also welcome HIMSS19 Social Media Ambassador Brian Mack, manager of marketing and communications for Great Lakes Health Connect. He discusses how the health information exchange space is advancing the consumer and patient experience.

Next, another HIMSS19 Social Media Ambassador, Danielle Siarri, registered nurse and lead publisher at InnoNurse, joins us to share her insights on the role of nursing informatics in health care.

Finally, we talk to Cerner’s President of Government Services, Travis Dalton. He gives his take on the modernization of public sector health care, particularly within the U.S. Department of Defense and the U.S. Department of Veterans Affairs.
